Scenic Rim Regional Council is getting into the spirit of the festive season with two cracking Christmas events early next month.

Christmas will come early at Boonah Cultural Centre with a singalong led by acclaimed cabaret artist and theatre actress, Nadia Sunde and her Yuletide Band on Friday 4December.

Featuring a beautifully designed set and stunning costumes, the concert offers the audience an opportunity to singalong to favourite Christmas carols and songs with Nadia Sunde, who has delighted Scenic Rim music lovers for years with her warmth and wit.

The four members of her Yuletide Band are all highly acclaimed musicians in their own right – Michael Fix on guitar, John Reeves on piano and accordion, Andrew Shaw on bass and Kym Ambrose on percussion.

Nadia Sunde and her Yuletide Band have been perennial favourites with audiences at Brisbane’s City Hall and now it’s Scenic Rim’s turn to enjoy their musical magic.

Showtime is 11am on Friday 4 December with ticket prices just $16 or $12.50 per person for groups of 10 or more.

After nine months of Council’s Arts Dinners online, the first Arts Dinner live since the easing of COVID-19 restrictions will be cause for celebration.

To be held at the Vonda Youngman Community Centre on Tamborine Mountain from 6pm on Tuesday 8 December, the evening features a review of the unprecedented year that was 2020 and a preview of arts programming for 2021.

Scenic Rim Regional Council is partnering with the Regional Arts Service Network for South West Queensland to deliver an exciting series of the newly-named Arts Dinners Live and Online, which will continue a more than 10-year tradition of encouraging skills development, networking and workshops.

The community is invited to join the celebration of the South West Queensland Cultural Champions and Regional Arts Development Fund in the free December Arts Dinner, which also features great food and entertainment by two of Tamborine Mountain’s best-loved bands, The Inadequates and the Haystack Mountain Hermits.

As numbers are limited, registration is essential.
